Tiramisu tarts

Updated: Jun 5, 2025

The classic “pick-me-up” dessert is perfect in any form it takes—be it ice cream, beautifully traditional, or even in mini tart form, it hits all the right notes. I chose a buttery pastry shell to showcase my tiramisu, as it’s relatively dainty and serves as a subtle carrier of the coffee flavour without overpowering it.

Make Ahead & Storage Tips

• Pastry: The pastry dough can be made up to 3 days in advance and kept in the fridge wrapped tightly in cling film. It also freezes well for up to a month—just defrost in the fridge overnight before using.

• Baked tart shells: Once baked, the tart shells can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for 2–3 days.

• Filled tarts: Once filled, the tarts should be kept in the fridge and enjoyed within 2 days for the best texture and flavour.

• Leftover filling: If you have any tiramisu filling left, spoon it into ramekins and top with cocoa powder for a quick no-crust dessert!

Serving Suggestions

• These mini tiramisu tarts make a stunning finish to a dinner party or celebration table.

• Serve them with a shot of espresso or a glass of chilled Amarula for a luxe twist.

• For an extra indulgent touch, top each tart with a chocolate-covered espresso bean or a swirl of whipped cream.

• They also look beautiful styled on a tiered stand for high tea or special brunches.
